Mirjam Schiestl,
clarinet

was born in 1982 and, among other things, studied the clarinet with Mag. Helmut Hödl and Gerald Pachinger at the Konservatorium Eisenstadt and the University for Music and Performing Arts Graz, respectively.

Her musical spectrum ranges from classical music to contemporary music of the 20th and 21st century. As a result, the concerts she performs around the world are very diverse. After winning an audition at the Volksoper Vienna in September 2010, Mirjam Schiestl had a temporary contract for principal clarinet until 2011 and has since played regularly in the orchestra. She is also a substitute player in the Vienna Volksoper Symphonic Orchestra, in the Opera Ball Orchestra and in the Vienna Symphony Orchestra. She has travelled the world and seen China and Italy with the Junge Philharmonie Wien, France and Germany with the ensemble „The Blackwoods“ under Mag. Helmut Hödl and Japan with the Volksoper Vienna. The Ambassade Orchestra brought her to Lybia and Abu Dhabi and various concerts on cruise ships brought her to the South Sea, Australia, Singapur, the Bermudas and Bali. She has performed with the Ensemble Trio Mignon and the Quartett Parkplatz and has performed operas with the Orchestra of the KUG. As a teacher at various music schools and master classes, she also loves to inspire children and awaken their passion for music and creativity.
